Senior Development Manager

Description

• Oversee delivery of high-standard sustainability, ESG, energy-efficiency and quality outcomes (Green Star / NABERS / WELL-style performance objectives).
• Manage stakeholder engagement across public-, private- and community-sector stakeholders (local council, consultants, contractors, advisers, tenants, future operators).
• Lead the remaining phases of a multi-component mixed-use precinct: commercial tower, hotel/co-living facility, public civic space, precinct infrastructure, and sustainability-led ESD initiatives.
• Ensure that project delivery stays on schedule, on budget, meets compliance, quality and commercial targets, and is aligned with long-term value and placemaking outcomes.
• Following the completion of this major development, you will then work with senior leadership to shape the growth and reputation of a high-performing, industry-renowned BTR platform.

Requirements

Our client is a seasoned development and construction group with a strong track record of delivering large-scale, mixed-use and institutional/regeneration projects led by an elite, best in class team.

We are looking for an experienced Senior Development Manager to oversee the final delivery phase of a major urban-regeneration / mixed-use precinct — and subsequently transition into a leading Build-to-Rent (BTR) platform within this top tier organisation.

• Strong commercial acumen and long-term value orientation — able to transition from “build-to-handover” mindset to “assets-for-rent / assets-for-holding” mindset.
• Strong stakeholder management: public sector, private sector, community; plus experience managing consultants, contractors, and interfacing with regulatory/approval authorities.
• Excellent leadership, communication, strategic thinking, negotiation skills and ability to work in fast-moving, multi-project environments.
• Demonstrated senior-level development experience delivering complex commercial office projects, delivering on leasing strategy and negotiating AFLs.
• Proven capability in delivering to high sustainability, ESG, and quality standards (Green Star, NABERS, WELL or equivalent).
