The Assistant Community Director supports the Community Director by overseeing the financial and operational aspects of the property, handling accounting and bookkeeping tasks, preparing monthly close‑out and financial reports, processing invoices, collecting rent and other payments, completing bank deposits, performing reconciliations, and recording all financial activities in the property management system.
The role involves collaborating with on‑site team members to prioritize solutions, understand resident and stakeholder needs, lead projects, manage change initiatives, and actively participate in community and industry activities, embodying the company's values and culture.
Key duties include daily financial transactions such as rent and fee collection, bank deposits, and financial reporting; reviewing and submitting vendor invoices for payment; entering approved bills into the accounting system; managing resident delinquency and eviction processes; processing move‑outs and security deposit dispositions; addressing resident complaints to ensure satisfaction and retention; supervising on‑site staff in the manager’s absence; maintaining owner relationships through property tours and performance updates; and supporting leasing and marketing efforts.
The position follows a 40‑hour work week with varying site hours, including required availability on weekends, and demands consistent attendance, punctuality, and the ability to perform essential functions independently.
Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED and at least two years of multifamily industry experience, combined with a strong background in property management, sales, marketing, and customer service; a valid driver’s license is required.
Candidates must demonstrate effective written and verbal communication, basic mathematical skills for financial calculations, an understanding of lease terms and collections, and proficiency with internet, word processing, spreadsheet, database programs, and property management software such as Yardi or One Site.
Physical requirements involve frequent standing, walking, climbing, and lifting up to 20 lb independently (or 50 lb with assistance), operating golf carts, and working in both indoor and outdoor environments.
