Junior Manager - Finance Assurance

Description

The Junior Manager – Finance Assurance oversees the review and reporting of all Balance Sheet accounts. The role provides Entity, Sector and Group‑level analysis of financial transactions and their impact on carrying balances. It examines SAP trial balances across sectors and group companies to ensure accurate Balance Sheet reviews and compliance with regulations and internal policies.

Key responsibilities include maintaining timely reconciliations, validating financial reports, conducting bank and vendor reconciliations, preparing KPI data and CEO reporting packs, and managing documentation. The position also drives process automation through macros, extracts and processes SAP data, and generates regular aging and payroll reports. It ensures balance‑sheet accuracy, supports audit activities and coordinates with shared service and finance teams to resolve open items.

• Reconcile accounts monthly/quarterly.
• Validate GL clearing, zero open line‑item reports and digital dashboards; update in Power Query.
• Perform bank reconciliation, employee advances/loans, deposits, prepaid expenses and provisions; resolve discrepancies.
• Reconcile and report loans, investments, interest calculations, assets and cash deposits (insurance).
• Analyse vendor purchase order data and report variances.
• Prepare and validate KPI data, dashboard releases and CEO reporting packs.
• Validate quarterly direct tax assessment status.
• Identify and correct statutory payment discrepancies (TDS, PF, PT, ESI, GST) and monitor TDS receivable/refund.
• Lead internal team meetings to discuss open items and operational challenges.
• Coordinate with SSC and Finance & Accounting teams for timely resolution of open line items.
• Document meeting minutes and maintain an action tracker.
• Manage documentation using a structured tracker.
• Execute macros for automated folder creation, file naming and GL reconciliation updates.
• Extract and process SAP data for trial balances, vendors, GL line items, customers, assets and inventory.
• Build pivot tables for vendor, GL and customer line items with year‑wise aging analysis.
• Update GL‑wise reconciliation sheets and generate vendor/creditor aging reports.
• Produce monthly reports for payroll, GRIR, travel advances and vendor balances.
• Review balance‑sheet GL items for accuracy and proper reconciliation.
• Examine trial balances, identify discrepancies and coordinate resolution with business teams.
• Cross‑check supporting documents (bank statements, invoices, deposit agreements, share certificates) to ensure balance‑sheet accuracy.
• Validate provision entries and assess balance‑sheet exposure transactions.
• Prepare financial schedules (debtors/creditors aging, fixed assets register, loans, investments, prepaid expenses, provisions, deposits ledger).
• Support statutory, internal and tax audits with accurate data and timely query responses.

Requirements

A bachelor’s degree in commerce is required, with CA or CMA Inter completed. The candidate should have 4‑6 years of finance and accounts experience, preferably in a supervisory role handling financial statements and balance‑sheet reconciliations.

• Use SAP and advanced Excel for data extraction, analysis and reconciliation.
