The Benefits Specialist is a hands-on role responsible for implementing, administering, and communicating all benefit programs, from health and welfare plans to 401(k), deferred compensation, workers’ compensation, and leaves of absence. The incumbent maintains vendor relationships, ensures data integrity across enrollment systems, and safeguards compliance through audits, filings, and documentation.
The position requires a bachelor’s degree in business administration, human resources, or equivalent experience, and at least seven years of employee-benefits administration, including health, welfare, and retirement plans. Candidates must possess strong knowledge of benefit regulations (ACA, ERISA, COBRA, FMLA), system configuration experience (Workday a plus), and advanced proficiency with Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Travel up to 10 % may be required to support periodic programs, and the role collaborates closely with HR leadership, finance, payroll, external vendors, and legal professionals.
