- Ensure operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines
- Locate sources of problems by observing equipment in operation, listening for issues, and using precision measuring and testing instruments
- Remove defective parts by dismantling devices with hoists, cranes, and hand/power tools, and examining part form and texture
- Determine dimensional changes needed for parts by inspecting used components with rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring tools
- Adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments using hand tools, levels, and straightedges
- Fabricate repair parts using machine‑shop instrumentation and equipment
- Conserve maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies efficiently to achieve job results
- Must supply own hand tools appropriate to the equipment and environment

The company is seeking a 3rd or 4th year Apprentice Millwright to join the maintenance team at its granule production plant. The role involves installing, maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing mechanical systems, reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, and following all safety protocols in a hazardous environment. The position is unionized under IAMAW Lodge 692, requiring membership and adherence to the collective bargaining agreement.
- Registered 3rd or 4th year Apprentice Millwright
- Proven experience maintaining a safe work environment with knowledge of LOTO procedures or similar safety practices
- Maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment (asset)
- Millwright skills, welding and machining experience preferred
- Excellent knowledge of appropriate use of hand tools and maintenance equipment
- Ability to read and understand detailed repair and instruction manuals
- Proficiency with computer‑based maintenance software
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
- Good interpersonal and problem‑solving skills; able to work with other trades and operators
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 lb routinely
- Ability to walk or stand 50‑75 % of the shift
