May be required to act as a team leader, or on behalf of the Superintendent on administrative or management issues.
Furnishes mechanical recommendation when ordering new parts, machinery and equipment.
Reads, interprets and explains contents of O & M manuals, as-built drawings, block maps, schematics, and construction plans.
Coordinates with other organizational groups, crafts, and operational staff.
Organizes, plans, and executes projects to maximize efficiency.
Dismantles, constructs and assembles various components of industrial facilities, machinery or equipment.
Develops and submits technical specifications for repair parts and equipment.
Participates in planning efforts such as safety committees, work planning groups, and special project teams.

Graduation from high school or a General Education Development (GED) Certificate.
Six years’ experience performing repairs, maintenance and installation of pumps, chlorination systems and other industrial equipment.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external customers, contractors, governmental agencies and the public.
Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.
Skill and mastery of materials, tools, and equipment commonly used in mechanical maintenance or repair of industrial facilities.
Troubleshoots, diagnoses and resolves variable and highly complex non-routine water or wastewater facility machinery, piping and equipment problems.
Skill in demonstrating advanced knowledge of other maintenance crafts.
TCEQ Class “D” Water Operator License within 6 months AND TCEQ Class "C" Groundwater Treatment Operator License within 12 months of hire.
TCEQ Class “B” Groundwater Treatment Operator License.
Skill in applying advanced computer skills and ability in the use of the computerized maintenance management system.
Subject to climbing up to 200 feet in height.
Ability to operate a forklift, powered vertical lifting equipment, utility truck, crane, combination unit, water tanker, or other heavy equipment.
Applies mastery of skills and principles of mechanical maintenance and industrial safety.
.Ability to report to work on time, maintain a good attendance record, and work all designated work schedules.
Valid Class "CDL-A" Texas Driver's License with Tanker and Hazardous Material endorsements or obtain within 90 days.
