What you would be doing

  • Pick, pack and label customer orders.
  • Participate in annual cycle count to ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Produce packing slips and maintain accurate records of all shipments.
  • Provide assistance as needed to co-workers and customers (internal and external).
  • Comply with applicable shipping laws, regulations and standards.
  • Address internal and external customer concerns and issues related to shipment in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Load and unload parts trucks by hand or using material handling equipment.
  • Accurately sort and assign bin location for incoming stock.
  • Adhere to Finning safety, house keeping, shipping and receiving policies, procedures and standards.
  • Perform daily inspections of tooling and small equipment as well as replenish warehouse supplies as needed.
  • Complete 3-way match to purchase order and vender invoice to verify shipment order accuracy.
  • Monitor pending inbound and outbound orders to ensure most timely completion of all customer orders.
  • Maintain warehouse and yard storage areas to align with Finning housekeeping standards and to ensure a safe work environment.
  • Arrange for trucking/courier company pick ups.
  • Hose building may be required.
  • Work as part of a team to meet branch commitments to company and customer satisfaction.
  • Adhere to shipping and receiving policies/procedures and regulatory compliance procedures.

  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills with the ability to form strong relationships with customers and co-workers.
  • Self-motivated team player with a keen attention to detail and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize competing demands in a face paced team environment.
  • Basic proficiency in MS Office applications.
  • General warehousing and industry knowledge.
  • Basic knowledge of DBS parts inventory & transaction systems.
  • Customer Focus: Being successful means continuously paying attention to customer needs and adapting as these evolve. This heightens the importance of building strong customer relationships and delivering customer centric solutions.
  • Courage: Being comfortable with the conflict that is inherent to being a champion of an idea or course of action. Meeting tough situations head-on to constructively resolve them. Saying what needs to be said at the right time, to the right person, in the right manner to effect change.
  • Capable of lifting up to 40 lbs. on a frequent basis using approved and safe techniques and unaided by equipment.
  • Knowledge of heavy equipment and/or Caterpillar parts would be considered an asset.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
