The primary purpose of the Home Consultant is to deliver a world‑class home buying experience, assisting customers in selecting floor plans, choosing options, and coordinating construction. The consultant serves as a Clayton ambassador, maintaining brand integrity and fostering trust throughout the sales journey.
Key responsibilities include presenting display homes, demonstrating features and benefits, setting appointments from prospect databases and web leads, and participating in all training and sales meetings. Collaboration and a team‑oriented attitude are essential, as is the willingness to handle miscellaneous duties as needed.
Ideal team members are constant learners who develop expertise in finance, mortgage concepts, product knowledge, and local market trends. They maintain accurate customer files, provide timely follow‑up using the CRM system, assist with merchandising, and actively prospect to increase home‑center traffic.
Candidates should have at least six months of relationship‑driven B2C sales experience, a solid understanding of the retail environment, and the ability to obtain the required manufactured‑home sales license. Strong communication, organizational, and time‑management skills, as well as the physical ability to walk the lot and lift up to 75 lb, are required.
Clayton is seeking a Retail Home Consultant to help transform customers' lives by guiding them through the home buying process. The role offers the ability to control one’s own salary and provides a clear career growth path within a values‑driven, single‑family home builder.
Compensation consists of a $50,000 base salary plus a lucrative commission plan, offering unlimited earning potential. Benefits include flexible health, dental, and vision options, 401(k) matching, paid parental leave, PTO, holidays, volunteer time, and comprehensive wellness programs, with home centers closed on Sundays to support work‑life balance.
