Manager, Mechanical Engineer

Description

• Lead engineering evaluations, analyses, field inspections, design drawings, specifications, and cost estimates.
• Perform mechanical, plumbing, and fire protection system analysis using latest codes and technologies.
• Coach and mentor junior staff as a technical expert.
• Apply NYS Mechanical, Energy, Plumbing codes and NFPA standards.

Requirements

The role operates in a professional in‑office environment and may require travel to New York State job sites up to 10 % of the time. The position involves prolonged periods of computer work and the ability to lift up to 15 lb.

• Use AutoCAD, Revit MEP, and Microsoft Office Suite proficiently.
• Communicate effectively in writing and verbally within a team environment.
• Preferred: energy modeling (Carrier HAP, Trane TRACE, eQUEST), LEED Green Associate, commissioning experience.
• Hold a BS in Mechanical Engineering or Engineering Technology and a NYS Professional Engineer license.
• Possess 10+ years of post‑college experience with expertise in chilled/hot water, industrial processes, HVAC, controls, plumbing, and fire protection.
• Preferred experience designing HVAC and plumbing systems for schools, healthcare facilities, and commercial projects.
• Maintain a valid driver’s license with an acceptable motor vehicle record.
