The manager will oversee environmental compliance objectives across capital projects, conduct regulatory gap analyses, and collaborate with stakeholders such as engineering firms, LEED teams, OEMs, and contractors. Responsibilities include developing and implementing project‑specific environmental management plans, monitoring permits, conducting audits, providing training, tracking performance metrics, and reviewing documentation to ensure alignment with local, state, and federal regulations.

- Collaborate with stakeholders, engineering firms, LEED teams, OEMs, and contractors to manage environmental risks.
- Develop and implement project‑specific environmental management plans and procedures.
- Monitor compliance with permits and regulations such as SWPPP, SPCC, Air, Universal Waste, Solid Waste, NPDES, endangered species, cultural preservation, and RCRA.
- Perform environmental audits and coordinate corrective action planning and implementation.
- Provide training and guidance on environmental programs, regulatory obligations, and best practices.
- Track and report environmental performance metrics, incidents, and corrective actions to project leadership.
- Review and approve environmental documentation, including contractor submittals and management plans.
- Evaluate construction, startup, and commissioning plans for environmental compliance.
- Support SARA reporting and maintain accurate chemical inventory records.
- Liaise between contractors and client for refrigerant management, spill response, and hazardous waste disposal.
- Review project waste profiles and advise on disposal strategies.
- Participate in incident investigations, identify root causes, and recommend preventive actions.

ERM is hiring an Environmental Compliance Manager in Kenosha, WI to act as a trusted partner for the client’s project teams, supporting environmental stewardship and regulatory compliance throughout capital project lifecycles. The role provides expert guidance to construction managers, design‑build teams, and field personnel, requiring deep technical expertise, strong communication skills, and the ability to influence environmental performance in fast‑paced environments. It is a full‑time (40‑hour) limited‑term position for one year, with the possibility of extension.
Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science, or possess equivalent experience, and have at least ten years of environmental management experience, including five years supporting capital projects. Required attributes include strong analytical and decision‑making skills, the ability to drive accountability for compliance, excellence in documentation and reporting, and up‑to‑date knowledge of environmental regulations; familiarity with ISO 14001 is preferred and pharmaceutical‑industry experience is strongly preferred.
