Mechanical Design Engineer

Description

• Produce robust, variation‑insensitive design solutions.
• Collaborate and communicate design information with stakeholders.
• Apply existing commodity standards and develop new standards when needed.
• Liaise with manufacturing and service engineering to integrate their expertise.
• Review own and peers' designs for completeness and correctness.
• Apply logical, analytical, and innovative thinking to technical problems.

Requirements

Candidates must meet Baseline Personnel Security Standards and may be subject to security and export‑control restrictions based on nationality, residency, or other factors.

• Understand product system and sub‑system requirements and derive component specifications.
• Capture, store, and reuse knowledge from design activities.
• Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD in Engineering or equivalent technical capability.
• Relevant technical experience in the engineering discipline.
• Knowledge of product integrity, liability, and justification.
• Membership in a relevant professional body or working towards it.
• Experience across the product life cycle, including safety justification, manufacturing, integration, maintenance/refit, and operational support.
• Experience in research and development, analytical testing, and verification activities.
• Experience developing methods, standards, and processes.
