As an Experienced Internal Control Senior Consultant, you will support the Navy’s compliance efforts with OMB Circular A‑123, GAO, and other regulations. The role involves process documentation, risk assessments, and internal controls testing in a client‑facing, fast‑paced environment.
Key responsibilities include managing your own workload and junior staff, preparing assessment scoping documents and project plans, conducting business process risk assessments, developing cycle memorandums, coordinating and executing walkthroughs, testing control design and operating effectiveness, and assessing the impact of new guidance. You will also produce various communications, support stakeholder engagement, conduct research, and deliver high‑impact work products on schedule.
The Finance & Accounting Consulting role requires up to 10% travel and an active Secret clearance. It is positioned within Guidehouse's global AI‑led professional services firm.
Candidates must hold an active Secret clearance, a bachelor’s degree in accounting or business management, and at least three years of progressive experience in audit response, remediation, internal controls, or GAAP/SFFAS compliance. A professional certification (CPA, CISA, CIA, CGFM, or CDFM) is required, along with strong organizational and communication skills.
Preferred qualifications include knowledge of OMB Circular A‑123, Appendix A, current GAO/OMB/Treasury regulations, federal accounting and auditing standards, and experience with DoD or Navy financial processes. Demonstrated ability to identify client needs and contribute to firm service discussions is also valued.
