- Work from drawings and written instructions to create parts for customer-specific equipment with precision/close tolerances
- Interprets blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, work orders, and sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work piece, sequence of operations, and setup requirements
- Identifies different types and sizes of steel needed for the job (primarily HRS and CRS)
- Inspect finished parts and record results
- Maintain clean and organized work area
- Set up and operate turning machine to turn, bore, thread, or face metal materials
- Select Appropriate cutting tools, speeds and feeds for machining operations

- Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization
- Computer Skills: Windows Operating System
- Technical School Certificate preferred
- Attendance at work during the regularly scheduled shift is an essential duty. This includes but is not limited to the ability to be present at work, arrive on time and be at the workstation ready for work at the start of the shift, and work mandatory overtime when necessary
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to read and understand a tape measure, 12-inch scale, micrometers, calipers, and other measuring devices (Imperial and Metric)
- 5+ Years Experience in manufacturing or job shop environment preferred
- High School/GED required
- Ability to read blueprints and understand GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance)
- Able to perform mathematical skills such as calculating proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume and able to apply concepts of basic geometry
- Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
