The role involves designing and analysing mechanical and civil structural systems, performing fatigue, fracture and structural integrity assessments, and conducting stress analyses to international standards. You will create and validate finite‑element models using ABAQUS or ANSYS, develop design packages, select equipment and materials, and produce deliverables such as design substantiation documents, specifications and technical notes. Additionally, you will contribute to project proposals, scopes, schedules and budgets for mechanical discipline work.
We are looking for candidates with a degree in civil or mechanical engineering, who are Chartered Engineers or on track to chartership, and have experience in regulated industries such as nuclear, power or oil & gas. Required technical skills include proficiency in FEM (ABAQUS, ANSYS, Hypermesh, NASTRAN), linear/non‑linear static, frequency, buckling, explicit and seismic analyses, CAD modelling (CATIA V5, Creo), as well as scripting in Python or VBA. Strong project and team management abilities, client‑facing experience, and excellent written and verbal communication are essential.
