Production Operator

Description

• Carry out high quality manufacturing tasks to the agreed and/or documented standards
• Following standard operating procedures (SOP) and supporting teams to create new SOP’s as appropriate
• Adhering to operational procedures and production timelines
• Escalating issues where appropriate and working with relevant cross functional teams to find solutions
• Ensuring high standards of housekeeping and keeping work areas and the factory floor clean and free from hazardous material
• Informing Supervisors of faulty machinery or production issues
• Adhering to relevant health and safety regulations when operating machinery and handling products
• Keeping accurate records of materials used
• Ensuring all quality standards are observed and maintained
• Complying with health and safety requirements, policies and procedures
• Monitoring a production or assembly line and conducting basic testing and quality checks
• Operating and cleaning assembly and production machinery and also hand-held tools
• Storing goods and raw materials in a factory or warehouse, which may involve operating lifting equipment and forklift trucks
• Ensuring a cost effective and timely production to meet production targets and customer requirements
• Keeping accurate records of any defects and scrapped materials
• Respectful of employees, customers and team members in all conversations and communications. Promote company values and behaviours

Requirements

• Knowledge of the relevant safety and quality standards and procedures
• Excellent time management with the ability to work to deadlines and under pressure
• Willingness to complete on the job / vocational training as well as formal qualifications as required
• Good communicator
• Good concentration and attention to detail to quickly notice errors on a production or assembly line
• The ability to interpret technical specifications and information
• Ability to show initiative and work independently when required
• Customer focused
• GCSE / Equivalent grade A-C in Maths and English and preferably one other in a technical subject
