  • Assist with Safety Training expectations for assigned Business Units.
  • Maintain a safety record as needed.
  • Promote safety work practices and conditions in accordance with local, state, and federal laws.
  • Assists project teams with adherence to safety and loss control policies.
  • Assist Business Units in the development of annual safety plans.
  • Assist Field Safety Specialists as needed.
  • Support the McKinstry Safety Program to reduce the risk of injury and property loss or damage.
  • Support safety orientation for new employees, safety investigations, report findings, corrective actions, and lessons learned.
  • Assist Safety Program Managers with program reviews, audits, and updates as assigned.
  • Help verify that subcontractors are conducting the proper safety training as per OSHA standards.

  • Must be pursuing or have a degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. Junior student standing or higher required.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Must be self–motivated, able to multi‐task, and work independently.
  • Availability in Summer 2026 (May/June start until August/September, depending on school); part-time availability after Summer preferred
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Visio required; working knowledge of SharePoint and MS Project preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specs, contracts, proposals, estimates, and other regularly encountered items.
  • Must be detail-oriented, well organized, and possess excellent follow-up skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
