Description

A Gate Attendant/Scale Operator monitors and records waste volumes entering the post‑collection site and collects appropriate usage fees from customers. The position ensures accurate billing and efficient gate operations.

The role supports efficient waste processing at the gate, ensuring accurate tracking, billing, and safe handling of incoming loads while maintaining records and communicating with operations. Maintaining a clean work area and providing information to callers are also part of the responsibilities.

• Determine waste content and bill customers accurately.
• Accept or reject loads based on content and suggest alternatives.
• Collect payments, issue receipts, and balance daily receipts.
• Document waste using truck scales and computer systems.
• Notify operations of special waste loads and process required paperwork.
• Answer telephone inquiries and provide information.
• Maintain a clean work area and perform additional assigned duties.

Requirements

Candidates should have prior cash handling experience, strong numeracy skills, and be comfortable using computer systems and related software. These abilities help ensure precise receipt balancing and data entry.
