The Concrete Finisher Journeyman (JM) levels freshly poured concrete, grout, and similar materials on floors, walls, ceilings, foundations, and sidewalks. The role requires reading plans, using hand and power tools, operating vibrators and trowels, and performing finishing, repair, and waterproofing tasks while ensuring quality and safety.
- Level and finish fresh concrete, grout, and similar materials on floors, walls, ceilings, foundations, and sidewalks.
- Read and interpret measuring tools, project plans, blueprints, and plant coordinates to ensure accurate work.
- Operate hand and power tools, including power trowels, vibrators, and saws, for placement, consolidation, and cutting of concrete.
- Perform concrete repairs, grout installation, waterproofing, sealant application, and anchor bolt placement.
- Inspect finished concrete work and monitor temperature effects to maintain quality standards.
- Direct equipment drivers, trucks, and, when qualified, mentor journeymen and helpers.
- Follow MasTec health and safety programs, OSHA regulations, and participate in daily toolbox meetings.
- Provide personal safety toe boots and approved hand tools; company supplies power tools and PPE.
- Work up to 12‑hour shifts, lift objects up to 50 lb, and operate at heights in varied weather conditions.

Applicants must have at least four years of craft experience; a Master Journeyman needs an NCCER‑approved certification. Required knowledge includes MasTec health and safety programs, OSHA standards, and the ability to interpret drawings and measurements. The position entails up to 12‑hour shifts, 50 hours per week, with physical work in varying temperatures and weather, including lifting up to 50 lb and operating at heights.
