Customer Training: Conduct training sessions for customers on the safe and proper operation of cryogenic equipment and systems, ensuring compliance with OEM and industry standards and regulations.
Performing Corrective Maintenance tasks at customer sites as required
Use standard office equipment such as computers, telephones, printers, copiers, etc.
Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety policies and procedures, ensuring a safe working environment for both yourself and customers during service visits.
Wear Nikkiso approved PPE as needed.
To perform the duties of this job, the employee will be required to stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop or kneel, talk and hear, and use fingers and hands to feel objects, tools or controls.
Participate in other training as directed by the company or manager.
Work in both office and shop environments at customer and company sites.
Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with the latest OEM technological advancements and industry trends related to cryogenic systems through ongoing training and self-development, applying this knowledge to enhance service delivery and customer satisfaction.
Documentation: Prepare timely field trouble reports, maintain accurate and comprehensive service records, including equipment history, repair reports, and customer interaction details, to facilitate effective communication and future reference.
Ensure all safety requirements and PPE requirements are enforced with others as appropriate.
Maintenance Services: Perform routine and scheduled maintenance activities on cryogenic systems, including inspections, calibration, and replacement of components or parts as necessary.
Teamwork: Works collaboratively with team members, sharing knowledge, helping, and contributing to a positive and supportive work environment. The Field Service Technician should be able to collaborate effectively with colleagues from different departments to ensure seamless service delivery.

On-site Repairs: Respond to customer requests for on-site repairs promptly and effectively, utilizing appropriate tools, equipment, and resources to ensure timely resolution of issues.
Travel and extended stays at customer work sites.
Technical Support: Provide expert onsite technical guidance and support to customers on the installation, operation, and maintenance of cryogenic equipment and systems.
Troubleshooting: Identify and diagnose issues with cryogenic systems, utilizing advanced troubleshooting techniques to ensure efficient problem resolution while minimizing downtime.

Organisational Skills: Exhibits strong organizational abilities in managing multiple tasks, projects, and priorities simultaneously. The Field Service Technician should be able to plan and coordinate field service activities effectively, ensuring timely and accurate completion of assignments.
Proficiency in installation, maintenance, and repair of MCCs, switchboards, control panels, and automation systems.
Trade qualified to a minimum Certificate III
1-2 years’ experience with cryogenic / oil & gas / industrial gas equipment. Pump / Motor experience a plus
Field service experience highly desirable
Candidates cannot have issues with heights or confined spaces.
Lift 50-100 pounds.
Experience in planning and organising field service activities, including equipment inspections and preventive maintenance.
Demonstrated knowledge of AS/NZS 3000 Wiring Rules and electrical safety standards, including lock-out/tag-out (LOTO) procedures.
Proficiency in troubleshooting and diagnosing issues
Job will generally be performed at customer site, or in shop environment and generally requires travel to a client’s office, production facility or industrial/construction job site. Conditions will vary at each location, but the conditions listed above will generally apply.
Experience with onsite repairs, installations and overhauls preferred.
Adaptability: Able to work in diverse environments and adapt to dynamic and changing work conditions. The Field Service Technician should demonstrate flexibility and resilience in handling unforeseen circumstances, such as schedule changes, emergency calls, client demands, and site-specific challenges.
Overtime, and on call may be necessary as the work load's dictates. This may include weekdays, weekends, nights and/or holidays, and travel required up to 80% to meet customer needs.
Ability to perform effectively in high stress situations.
Problem-solving Skills: Capable of analysing complex technical issues and providing effective solutions in a timely manner. The Field Service Technician should possess strong diagnostic skills, the ability to troubleshoot and resolve problems independently, and be adept at identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
First Aid – desired / will be provided
A valid driver’s license is required, and candidates may be required to show a clean driving abstract for travel between the facility locations and client offices as required.
Technical Expertise: The ability to learn, understand and apply specialized knowledge of cryogenic systems, equipment, and processes. This includes gaining a deep understanding of cryogenic fluids, gases, and their properties, as well as attaining proficiency in operating and maintaining cryogenic equipment.
