Industrial Hygienist

Description

• Respond to client emergencies as needed.
• Conduct employee noise exposure assessments and monitoring.
• Perform air, surface, and water sampling according to USEPA, OSHA, NIOSH, and industry analytical methods.
• Execute Phase I Environmental Site Assessments and other environmental hazard evaluations.
• Perform employee exposure monitoring for various environmental hazards.
• Maintain certifications and licenses.
• Respond as a member of the Hillmann 24-hour disaster response team.
• Develop remediation plans, report findings, and ensure compliance with industry guidelines.
• Conduct thorough investigations related to Industrial Hygiene, including indoor air quality, mold/moisture inspections, asbestos surveys, and lead-based paint inspections.

Candidates must be able to work with minimal supervision, learn quickly, and possess excellent problem-solving skills.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel
• Lead: NC & SC Lead Inspector/Assessor licenses or ability to obtain.
• Spoken proficiency in Spanish preferred.
• Excellent communication
• Reliable transportation.
• Mastery of the English language – written and spoken.
• 3 – 5 years in the industry, with a focus on asbestos, lead, indoor air quality, and mold/moisture inspections. Phase I ESA experience is a plus.
• Ability to occasionally work in confined spaces (examples: crawlspaces, attics).
• Ability to occasionally work at heights greater than 6 feet (examples: ladders, rooftops, man-lifts, scaffolding).
• Valid driver’s license.
• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or equivalent degree in a Science-related field.
• Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to walk up/down multiple flights of stairs.
• Asbestos: NC/ SC/ TN/ VA/ GA Asbestos Inspector / NC Supervising Air Monitor / NC & SC Management Planner licenses or ability to obtain.
• Additional certifications like CHMM, 40 Hour HAZWOPER, 10/30 Hour Construction Safety and CIE/CMI are desirable but not required.
• Ability to complete all mandatory trainings, including safety training.
• Ability to frequently reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
