Create and govern architecture standards, cybersecurity, and modularity component roadmaps across product models, platforms, and regions with key engagement activity with Product management, Product Platform engineering, Telematics, and Controls teams
Create software design process standard work guidelines, templates/tools (ie, system diagrams, calculation spreadsheets, error checking, etc…) to improve product development cycle time, promote consistency across teams, and to enable rapid innovation with a high degree of reuse
Evaluate and select appropriate software technologies and platforms for solution development. Lead tradeoff analysis and recommendations, preparing and presenting architectural reports to senior management
Ensure software meets all functional, security, regulatory (e.g., cybersecurity compliance), and quality requirements for industrial and transportation environments

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer engineering, computer science, electrical engineering or related technical field with 10 years of experience
Experience with industrial connectivity protocols such as CAN, J1939, Modbus, MQTT, OPC-UA, secure IP-based protocols, and Automotive Ethernet (100Base-T1, 10Base-T1S)
Familiarity with event-driven architectures, pub/sub messaging patterns, and distributed systems.
Excellent knowledge of UML, SysML, or MBSE for system modeling and design
Technical expert for software architecture technology stack definition, leading analysis and improvements to design simplicity, modularity & re-use to provide software capabilities across Thermo King products
Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills for working in cross-disciplinary teams (software, hardware, systems engineering)
Proven experience architecting embedded controls solutions, including Embedded Linux (e.g., Yocto) and RTOS platforms (e.g., FreeRTOS, Zephyr Project, MicroC/OS-II)
Experience in embedded software development and coding in various languages (e.g., C, C++, C#, Rust, Python)
Working knowledge of DevOps tools (e.g., GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitLab CI), and experience with automated testing frameworks (Google Test, CppUTest, Catch2)
Preferred that have experience as an embedded architect
Multi-region travel up to 5% may be required
