The Senior Strategic Account Manager (SSAM) will develop trust and long‑term relationships with a portfolio of major and strategically important customers. Acting as the primary liaison between these clients and Valmont’s internal teams, the SSAM will ensure solutions are delivered on time and that the overall customer experience is enhanced. The role focuses on sustaining and growing business by identifying high‑revenue opportunities and preventing churn.
Key responsibilities include managing the western strategic accounts portfolio, leading account planning, and expanding relationships to maximize sales opportunities. The SSAM will monitor competitor activity, coordinate solution development across sales, support, service, and management, and provide regular performance reports and forecasts to senior leadership. Additionally, the manager will identify new strategic customers and drive new business with existing clients.
Candidates should hold a bachelor’s degree—preferably in Agricultural Economics or Business—and possess 15+ years of experience, including at least five years in sales or marketing management within agricultural equipment or irrigation. Required skills include strong human‑relations, communication, negotiation, problem‑solving, and the ability to work independently under pressure. Travel up to 50 % of the time, proficiency with Microsoft Office, and additional language abilities are preferred.
