Key duties include managing construction tasks, maintaining document controls, coordinating with client teams and contractors, handling RFIs and change orders, supporting payment applications, and overseeing project close‑out documentation. The engineer will also prepare meeting agendas, track action items, assist with financial updates, and collaborate with operations and commissioning teams to ensure mission‑critical facilities operate smoothly.
- Manage individual tasks throughout the construction process.
- Transcribe meeting minutes and action items and drive each item to closure.
- Ensure project compliance with document controls and file specifications.
- Administer project closeout specifications and turnover documentation.
- Collaborate regularly with client project team and contractor operatives.
- Support application for payment and progress reporting processes.
- Process requests for information (log, record, report) for review and sign‑off.
- Administer change orders (log, record, report) for review and sign‑off.
- Coordinate meetings.
- Administer project observation reports.
- Transition close‑out documentation to operations.
- Prepare agenda and documents for design engineering meetings and drive actions to close.
- Assist client project managers in implementing project specifications.
- Prioritize input from internal stakeholders to meet scheduled timelines.
- Assist project manager with monthly financial updates and forecasts.
- Facilitate page‑turn reviews and capture comments as action items.
- Work closely with Operations to coordinate work where applicable.
- Maintain awareness of mission‑critical facility operations.
- Support the project commissioning team.
- Adhere to SOX control responsibilities when applicable.

The company is seeking an ambitious, meticulous, self‑starting Construction Project Design Engineer to support a client’s construction projects. This support and reporting role reports directly to the client’s construction project managers and is 100 % onsite, Monday through Friday. The engineer will work across civil, structural, architectural, and MEP trades to coordinate core project activities.
Candidates should hold a bachelor’s degree in engineering management, architecture, construction management or a related field, or possess equivalent experience. A minimum of three to five years as a Design Project Engineer on increasingly complex construction projects is required, with preferred experience in industrial, defense, and facility construction. Proficiency in civil, structural, architectural, and MEP disciplines, strong construction management background, and solid MS Office skills are essential.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering management, architecture, construction management or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Industrial and defense construction experience preferred.
- 3–5 years’ experience as a Design Project Engineer on increasingly complex construction projects.
- Facility construction experience preferred.
- Required experience in civil, structural, architectural and MEP trades.
- Construction management background strongly preferred.
- Proficient with numbers, technology and web‑based data platforms (MS Office essential).
