The material handlers operate facility forklifts and loaders to move recyclables while adhering to company and OSHA safety standards. They complete daily pre‑trip and post‑trip inspections and submit paperwork to the Recycling Facility Manager. Effective communication with other personnel regarding material conditions is required.

- Keep tipping floor areas safe by monitoring traffic and equipment movement.
- Report accidents or injuries promptly and complete required reports within 24 hours.
- Assist in production tasks such as dumping cages, moving containers, and other forklift/loader jobs.
- Minimize feed downtime by keeping material on the belts.
- Report shift statistics: actual time worked, inspection sheets, bale maintenance, and loading quality.
- Monitor forklift/loader condition and coordinate timely repairs.
- Perform daily pre‑trip and post‑trip equipment inspections.
- Refill oil and coolant to maintain proper fluid levels.
