Description

The Janitor’s role is to keep workplaces clean, organized, and disinfected, creating a safe and pleasant environment for employees and visitors.

• Clean interior surfaces including floors, carpets, rugs, windows, walls, lighting fixtures, marble surfaces, and moldings.
• Remove stains from chairs and upholstered furniture and keep all furniture dust‑free.
• Empty, clean, and replace trash cans and ashtrays; dispose of trash and recycling to designated areas.
• Disinfect high‑touch items such as desks, door handles, office tools, and phones.
• Clean and restock restrooms, including replenishing supplies as needed.
• Wash windows and mirrors; clean snow and debris from sidewalks when required.
• Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and request missing materials from supervisors.
• Document cleaning activities on a chart and notify supervisors of unsafe conditions or maintenance needs.
• Follow all safety and precaution rules, lift up to 50 lb, and close doors at the end of night shifts.
• Follow instructions, meet commitments, and work extra hours when needed.
• Observe safety procedures, report hazards, and use equipment properly.

Requirements

The position requires reliable attendance, adherence to safety protocols, and the physical ability to handle cleaning equipment and supplies.

• Vacuum, sweep, and mop floors in offices, rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, elevators, stairs, locker rooms, and other work areas.
• Demonstrate consistent attendance and punctuality.
