What you would be doing

- Authorize stoppage or interfere with the work of the excavator contractor if needed.
- Visit designated sites, prior to and/or during active construction, weather permitting.
- Ensure excavation is not occurring before the required wait time.
- Distribute educational material from OUPS promoting safe digging practices.
- Meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency.
- Log information regarding the contractor name, nature or scope of work, and note any changes in scope based on original OUPS request.
- Ensure that excavator contractors are complying with the rules and regulations regarding work performed around the utility client's natural gas system.
- Ensure the safety, reliability, security and integrity of the distribution system, as outlined by the utility client and the Ohio Utilities Protection Service(OUPS) and KY811.
- Identify improper excavation activities and violations of Ohio Safe Digging regulations.

- Operator Qualifications related to natural gas pipeline installation preferred
- Valid driver's license and relatively clean driving record
- Utility locate experience preferred
- Work independently and complete daily activities per daily work schedule
- Communicate clearly orally and in writing.
- Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions.
- Pass pre-employment and random Drug - Alcohol Tests
- Applicant must have a valid driver's license.
- Willing to provide written consent for GPS tracking of location (via Company issued cell phone, tablet/laptop, or Company issued vehicle)
- Pass background checks
