The case manager assists formerly homeless, asylum‑seeking individuals in achieving stable permanent housing, providing short‑term service planning, crisis response, informal counseling, referrals, income support, and coordination of community‑building activities while maintaining relationships with community agencies and service providers.
Core duties include information and referral case management, community‑building coordination, administrative support, and participation in advocacy and fundraising efforts. The role involves assessing tenant needs, connecting them to mental health, substance‑abuse, and disability services, organizing resident activities, maintaining accurate records, and preparing reports and grant materials.
- Build effective relationships with tenants.
- Provide information and referral to residents, including written materials.
- Maintain updated information tools for tenant use in accessing community resources.
- Formally and informally assess tenants’ functioning and social service needs.
- Offer case management for selected residents at risk of eviction or self‑identified.
- Make referrals or initiate services for mental health, substance abuse, and disability issues.
- Coordinate with local agencies to meet LIHI residents’ needs.
- Work collaboratively with building management and Supportive Services staff to increase tenant stability and retention.
- Coordinate with community organizations, public agencies, and volunteers to provide on‑ and off‑site activities.
- Initiate and encourage resident involvement in meetings, meals, and support groups.
- Produce written materials such as community newsletters.
- Participate in staff meetings and planning sessions.
- Report regularly to Supportive Services Supervisor on programmatic issues.
- Maintain records of activities, contacts, and case management.
- Complete other records and reports as directed.
- Assist staff with administrative and program work for supportive housing projects.
- Help prepare spreadsheets, grants, funding applications, correspondence, and reports.
- Participate in public policy advocacy, recruiting residents for meetings and hearings.
- Support fundraising by providing information for grant applications and establishing community contacts.

Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in social work or a related field (or an associate degree with three years’ experience), have at least two years of experience serving diverse populations, possess strong communication and computer skills, hold a valid Washington driver’s license, and be able to pass background and drug screenings.

Benefits
The Supportive Services Case Manager position is located at Martin Court Apartments in Seattle, reporting to the Supportive Services Manager. It is a full-time, non-exempt, unionized role (Local 8 OPEIU) with a pay range of $29.20‑$34.61 per hour, working Monday‑Friday, 9 am‑5:30 pm.
