- Perform scheduled maintenance services, including oil changes, filter replacements and system inspections.
- Comply with all company policies and procedures.
- Perform Federal Inspections and repair issues that are found during the inspection.
- Inspect completed work to ensure it meets quality standards and specifications.
- Inspect and change tires as necessary.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair work using maintenance management system.
- Interpret and follow technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams for accurate repairs and maintenance.
- Maintain tools and equipment, ensuring they are in good working condition and properly calibrated.
- Offer recommendations for future preventative maintenance or repairs to reduce downtime and extend equipment life.
- Communicate effectively with managers and Lead mechanic, providing detailed explanations of diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance services.
- Address any deficiencies or discrepancies promptly, ensuring stakeholder satisfaction and vehicle/equipment safety.
- This role may require working flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to meet operational needs.
- Ensure all work is performed in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including environmental and safety standards.
- Perform brake inspections, adjustments and replacements.

- High School diploma or equivalent, technical training in diesel mechanics or related field is preferred.
- Manages time effectively
- Ability to lift heavy objects, work in various environmental conditions, and stand for extended periods.
- 3+ years in diesel mechanics
- Valid driver’s license
- Maintenance certifications in relevant areas; additional certifications for specific vehicle types or systems may be required
- Basic understanding of using diagnostic software, mechanical tools and specialized equipment.; strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail and good communication and interpersonal skills.
