Topcon is seeking a Professional Services Applications Specialist to lead dealer and end‑user training programs while providing technical expertise through product demonstrations and customer support. The role is based primarily at the Livermore, CA Training Center and supports sales, training, and product validation efforts across the customer base. The specialist works hands‑on with advanced construction and surveying technology, collaborates closely with internal teams, and supports customers in both classroom and real‑world field environments.

Candidates should hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Surveying, Surveying Technology, Geodesy, Construction Management, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.
Required experience includes 3‑5 years in surveying, civil engineering, or construction applications, with strong knowledge of surveying software, topography, construction staking, and precision 3‑D measurement. Prior roles such as crew chief, site supervisor, foreman, equipment operator, or grade checker are preferred.
The role demands strong verbal presentation and written communication skills, proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Mechanical aptitude, basic hand‑tool use, and willingness to learn heavy equipment operation are essential.
Physical requirements include climbing on and operating construction equipment such as bulldozers and motor graders, and lifting or carrying tools and equipment up to 50 pounds.
The position is primarily onsite in Livermore, CA with 15‑25% domestic travel. Work conditions combine office/classroom and outdoor field environments, which may be hot, cold, muddy, dusty, or rainy, and can include construction sites.
The expected base salary range is $109,000 to $145,000 annually, subject to variation based on skills, experience, location, and other factors.
