Candidates must have completed the Military Basic Electronics Course and Ground Transmission Systems Repair Course (or equivalent), five years of related experience, and may substitute an AA degree in electronics plus certifications such as DoD 8570 IAT II or FCC General Radio Telephone Operator License. Required knowledge includes radio transmitters/receivers, wave propagation, electrical principles, circuit components, antennas, and the ability to obtain a tactical vehicle operator license, a Secret Clearance, and Base Access.
