Install weatherstripping, carbon monoxide detectors, smoke detectors, thermostats, switch/outlet gaskets, low flow showerheads/thermostatic shower valves, faucet aerators, window/glass replacements, compact fluorescent light bulbs, Torchiere lamps, hardwired lamps, microwave ovens, LED lights, smart power strips, ceiling fans and other feasible and applicable measures.
Maintain and organize physical or electronic files related to program documentation.
Communicate effectively with team members and management. Contribute to a positive team environment. Support colleagues when necessary. Exhibit professionalism and compliance with PACE’s employee policies.
Comply with and practice safety procedures and guidelines in accordance with PACE, OSH and Program safety standards and guidelines.
Operate diagnostic equipment like Shell Leakage/Duct Sealing per program requirement and complete appropriate reports.
Execute a work schedule that may involve after hours and/or weekend assignments, as needed.
Install energy efficient refrigerators and remove old refrigerators for disposal.
Perform all necessary precautions to protect crew members and clients in homes from exposure to any unsafe conditions/situations.
Attend training/workshops as required.
Ensure the accuracy and completeness of data. Use program and utility databases and internal reporting/tracking including Excel spreadsheets, as required.
May perform HVAC related mitigation tasks including vent system repairs, mitigation of gas leaks, and installation of gas stove ranges and window or wall-mounted air conditioning units to meet ECIP health and safety standards.
Perform attic/ceiling/floor/wall insulation, blow and/or lay various types of insulation in attics and floors.
Install solar thermal/photovoltaic panels.
Educate clients of the benefits received from weatherization services and provide energy conservation, budget counseling, mold & moisture/radon/asbestos pamphlets/flyers and lead safe information and information materials
Crawl into the attic to install applicable air vents needed for combustion ventilation and/or cross ventilation and install barriers to protect heat-producing devices such as the hot water heater, furnaces, recess lighting and doorbell transformer, etc.
Effectively communicate with supervisors and co-workers concerning day-to-day operations as well as with clients to promote program goals and its benefits.
Install required/eligible measures in accordance with CSD’s Weatherization Installation Standards (WIS) Manual, Policies and Procedures and in a Lead-Safe manner on pre-1978 and Asbestos Contained Materials on pre-1981dwellings.
As necessary, call/make appointments with clients, manager or management companies to perform work in identified buildings or homes.
Provide team support and answer phone calls, emails, or in-person inquiries from customers regarding the program, as directed by supervisor. Deliver exceptional customer service in communications and scheduling (adjustments) in order to complete maximum inspection daily.
Review assessments prior to commencing work, interpret the blower door reading results in relation to sealing measure requirements.
Conduct Post Weatherization activities such as Post Combustion Appliance Safety Testing (CAS) on appliances repaired/replaced by subcontractor(s), if needed.
Be on top of issues related to quality assurance that includes monitoring, training and disciplinary action of staff/crews that produce sub-standard work.
Perform minor envelope repair necessary to stop air infiltration such as window and door repair/replacement and attendant hardware, repair/replacement of thresholds, door shoes, as well as patch walls and perform caulking.

This position is on-site at our DTLA HQ and will travel to local Field Sites***

Experience installing solar thermal and/or solar photovoltaic panels, a plus but not required. We will train.
Ability to lift and/or push up to 250 pounds with equipment provided.
Must be able to work in confined spaces such as attics and/or basements and in spaces or conditions that have high temperature.
Must pass in-house field training within ninety days after attending formal training.
Must pass respiratory screening exam, which is renewed annually
Must be able to pass the training for Basic Weatherization, Combustion Appliance Safety Testing (CAS), Shell Leakage/Duct Sealing Testing and perform the tests after these trainings.
Ability to analyze and collect data and perform mathematical calculations and complete technical field reports. Willing to train.
Read, understand and implement instructions correctly.
Must be able to pass State of CA DMV’s Motor Vehicle Report without any issues/concerns in order to be added as an authorized driver of PACE vehicles and be added in PACE’s vehicle insurance policy.

At least two (2) years hands-on experience in construction and/or weatherization preferred. However, if you do not meet this qualification, we still encourage you to apply as we are we are willing to provide training to individuals who are committed and dedicated to learning and growing in this role.
High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
Must have a current and valid Driver’s License, access to reliable transportation and adequate automobile insurance coverage for the duration of employment with PACE.
Must be physically fit to wear dust mask and/or half mask respirators and other safety gear and/or equipment as required by the program.
Ability to work independently and/or as part of a team.
Basic Weatherization, CAS, Shell Leakage/Duct Sealing Training Certificates, a plus.
Must be able to attend and pass training courses as required.
