The Business Systems Analyst acts as a liaison between technology and the business, conducting advanced business process analysis, needs assessments, cost/benefit analysis, project scoping and requirements elicitation. The role also provides leadership and mentoring to junior analysts.
Key duties include leading requirements gathering for large, complex projects, serving as the bridge between business users and IT developers, formulating system scope, documenting requirements and functional specifications, and managing stakeholder communication. The analyst coordinates working sessions, maintains the project documentation library, ensures quality of deliverables, works with Quality Engineering on test plans, and facilitates user acceptance testing while reviewing progress for accuracy and efficiency.
The position may involve coaching and mentoring less‑experienced analysts and acting as a team leader on systems projects.
Qualifications require a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, Business Administration or equivalent (or a high school diploma with 4 years experience) and at least five years of relevant work experience. Required skills include advanced requirements analysis, leadership, deep technical understanding of IT systems, databases, cloud technologies and development methodologies (Agile, Waterfall), as well as risk and change management. Preferred certifications are CCBA or CBAP, and SQL proficiency is a plus.
The work environment is an office setting Monday‑Thursday with work‑from‑home on Fridays. The salary range is $95,700‑$140,000 with bonus eligibility, and the benefits package includes medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short‑term disability, a stock purchase plan, 401(k) match and paid vacation, holidays and personal days.
