The Sr. Mechatronics & Robotics Technician will lead service technicians in the installation and repair of automated packaging and distribution equipment. The role supports the Operations Maintenance team by designing solutions to difficult problems, managing projects, and training and mentoring both service and contract technicians.
Daily responsibilities include promoting a safe work environment, maintaining and troubleshooting all conveyor systems, and leading preventative‑maintenance audits. You will install, maintain, and troubleshoot relay logic, ladder diagrams, control components, sensors, motor starters and other equipment, as well as create and close work orders with detailed labor and parts data. The position also requires developing training plans, emergency work plans for critical assets, and maintaining positive relationships across the facility.
Physical demands involve moving up to 49 lb, standing or walking during 12‑hour shifts (with reasonable accommodation), and traveling up to 20 % of the time. Working conditions may include cramped spaces, dust, fumes, temperature extremes, noise, vibration, and working at heights or on concrete for long periods.
Required qualifications are a high school diploma or equivalent, flexible availability for weekend, night or holiday shifts, at least three years of preventative‑maintenance experience, three years of blueprint and schematic reading, and two years of work‑order management.
Preferred qualifications include an associate or higher degree in mechanical or electrical fields, five or more years with automated conveyors and controls, two years of electrical/electronic principles, four years of apprenticeship or equivalent, prior leadership and vendor‑management experience, robotic maintenance expertise, familiarity with MHE safety standards, and experience using a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
The position is based onsite in Lancaster, NY, with an estimated compensation of $35,000 per year. Final compensation will reflect candidate qualifications, location, market conditions and internal considerations.
