The role serves as the first point of contact for customers depositing waste at a WM Facility, calculating payments, checking loads, and ensuring safety through adherence to safety rules and regulations. The employee greets customers, directs traffic, answers questions accurately, and ensures loads are safe and free of inappropriate material.
- Greet customers, direct traffic, and answer questions accurately.
- Calculate payments correctly for customers.
- Verify that incoming garbage loads are safe and free of prohibited material.
- Ensure all personnel wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and conduct business safely.
- Perform general upkeep of the Scale House.
- Complete administrative tasks, including filing and required reports.
- Keep immediate supervisor informed of problems or matters requiring attention.
- Attend company‑sponsored training and meetings as directed.
- Work overtime as needed and perform additional duties such as data entry and minor customer service tasks.
- Approach all interactions with employees, customers, and vendors in a friendly, service‑oriented manner.
