Deliver cost-effective design solutions, manage technical design and regulatory liaison.
Liaise with Land/Development/Estimating/Construction/Sales Departments throughout the development process, provide technically correct information as required
Comply with responsibilities as defined in the Group’s Health, Safety & Environment Policy and ensure compliance with the same throughout the team
Support site evaluation, planning, architectural/ or engineering design and the investigation of technical problems encountered and provision of economically viable solutions
Liaise with external designers to ensure that best practice is followed, costs are controlled, the department maximises revenue generation and contribution to the company’s operating profit
Be jointly responsible for producing technical design solutions within cost plan or approved appraisal budget
Ensure that Technical Department procedures are adhered to, and layouts, technical reports for land appraisal and required working drawings are provided within the agreed date schedule
Implement new ideas and methods and continue to seek ways of both improving contribution to the organisation’s goals and enhancing the reputation of the company
Provide a practical and cost effective design service to the company
Take responsibility for liaison with regulatory bodies such as the NHBC and planning authorities in order to satisfy current standards and conditions
Negotiate and deliver planning consents to the agreed timetable

Excellent communicator, with high detail orientation
Knowledge and understanding of the major functions within the remit of Technical services and how they impact on site acquisition and development
Demonstrable effective experience of working for a major company in a similar role or at the level of either Planner, Architectural Technician or Design Engineer
Ability to prioritise tasks to meet changing business needs
Extensive experience of working within established development methodologies
Individual who is qualified as an Engineer, Architectural Technician or Planner to HNC level, RICS or RIBA qualified or NVQ Level 5 in a relevant subject
