Manage a portfolio of casework in relation to people management activities for example absence, discipline, grievance and capability, learning and development and provide professional advice at associated meetings.

Undertake and lead on a range of People projects and initiatives across the Directorate for example: - Develop and design leadership and management training, Design train the trainer programme, Review and enhance appraisal process and relevant management processes
Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of professional areas of expertise including Employment Legislation, Reward and Terms and Conditions, changes to working practices, Talent Development, Health and Wellbeing, People Policies and Procedures and where relevant to the role general employment related developments.

Carry out job analysis and quality assurance in support of the Job Evaluation Scheme and relevant policies and procedures.

Support the implementation of the Strategic Workforce and Resourcing Plan through functional / departmental structure reviews, vacancy management and co-ordinating resourcing campaigns.
Develop, review and implement People and employment related policies and procedures
Operate within the governance framework and represent the People Directorate at committee meetings, working parties, management meetings as required.
Research and collate information and data on employment legislation, benchmarking and best practice; analyse information and make recommendations on proposals for People related initiatives.
In line with organisational priorities and personal skill sets, deliver induction training and the provision of targeted development programmes on people management activities.
Support culture change through the development and delivery of change initiatives.

Previous experience in a similar role
Associate membership of CIPD or equivalent body relevant to the role, or be able to demonstrate relevant continuous professional development which would show the ability to achieve this.

Degree level qualification, or have equivalent knowledge gained through relevant experience in the working environment.
Associate Diploma in People Management; Organisational Learning and Development or equivalent qualification relevant to the role
