Accountable for approving primary engineering design on own projects as well as for other team members. Attend technical meetings with the client to ensure client satisfaction.
Calculation of loading and short-circuit values of primary plant.
Technical management of junior engineers and CAD draught professionals.
Development and training of junior engineers.
Liaison with other members of the design team and client engineers.
Lead role for one of the key electrical disciplines, based on your professional background: 1) Primary, 2) Secondary Design, 3) OH or 4) Cable design of HV and EHV Substations in compliance with relevant BS, IEC, and customer-specified standards.
Responsibility for coordination of design of substation and/or OH/cable design from concept to detailed design as per client requirements.

HNC / HND / Degree Qualified in Electrical Engineering with experience in the UK Electricity Transmission and Distribution industry. Ideally NG authorised.
An ability and willingness to work in a multi-disciplinary and multi-locational team environment in collaboration with our clients.
A good understanding of electrical plant, transformer, protection, relays, and control principles and construction disciplines and current ENA, BS, and IEC electrotechnical engineering standards, to ensure full application and compliance requirements can be achieved.
Experience of working and/or authorisation with major UK utilities such as NG or DNO companies. Possess a proficient understanding of the electricity industry & regulatory standards, policies, and their application to the role.
Strong electrical knowledge and experience in the equipment design, specification, layout, and detailed engineering of extra and high voltage substations electrical equipment and product range.
