MRI Software offers real estate and investment management solutions to improve operations and decision-making.
A real estate lease abstractor will manage day‑to‑day lease administration tasks, including abstracting critical lease information and entering it into lease abstraction software. The role places a strong emphasis on data quality because the extracted information supports many other departments within the organization.
Key responsibilities include abstracting and interpreting commercial lease documents such as leases, amendments, subleases, and termination agreements, then inputting this data into platforms like Leverton, ProLease, or MRI. The abstractor reviews peer abstracts to ensure all critical lease data—tenant billing, lease dates, square footage, recurring charges, options, etc.—is accurately captured, and works with internal stakeholders to obtain required documentation for development milestones and rent commencement notices. Additional duties involve maintaining tenant/landlord naming conventions, flagging items that need further information, coaching new team members, and developing workflows to improve overall abstraction accuracy.
Ideal candidates have strong experience in lease abstraction within the US real‑estate sector, covering office, retail, and industrial portfolios, and possess a clear understanding of contractual terminology. Advanced proficiency in a European language (e.g., Spanish, French, German, Italian) and a keen eye for detail are desirable, as is the ability to read and interpret moderately complex real‑estate documents. Candidates should demonstrate excellent attention to detail, time‑management, communication skills, professionalism, and a willingness to learn in a fast‑paced environment.
Any degree is acceptable, provided the candidate has experience reading, comprehending, and interpreting documents, as well as experience analyzing data and solving problems. The role values individuals who can quickly learn new applications and processes with limited oversight.
Benefits include flexible hours allowing employees to knock off 2.5 hours on any day, an engaging and inclusive culture highlighted on the MRI Software APAC Instagram feed, and a range of perks such as extra paid time off, volunteer hours, employee referral bonuses, regional healthcare benefits, parental leave support, PTO plus holidays, tuition reimbursement, and the opportunity to work remotely from anywhere in the world for two weeks each year.
