The Gerente de Control de Proyectos coordinates the project controls staff and participates in control activities for a specific project or portfolio. The manager also guides, mentors, and develops the team while implementing corporate project control procedures.
Key duties include leading and supervising all project control activities to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with corporate standards; assigning tasks, managing workloads, and providing direction and mentorship; supporting performance evaluations, training, and certification plans; and ensuring ethical and contractual compliance.
The role is responsible for developing, maintaining, and analyzing project schedules (Primavera P6, MS Project), controlling project costs through tracking, forecasting, trend analysis, and contingency evaluation, and managing change processes with timely documentation and communication. Additionally, the manager customizes tools, prepares performance reports for clients and senior management, contributes to corporate procedure improvements, and coordinates with estimation and other areas for smooth transitions.
Preferred candidates have 10–15 years of project controls experience in oil & gas, engineering, construction, or mining, with at least five years in a supervisory role. They hold an engineering or business degree, a specialization or master’s in project management/costs, and ideally a PMP certification. Proficiency in Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, MS Office, ERP MS365 Dynamics, and advanced English is required.
