Heavy Diesel Mechanic

Description

• Adhere to OSHA and H&K safety policies while performing work
• Read job orders and assess equipment to diagnose malfunctions and plan repairs
• Install ignition systems, align wheels, service batteries, and replace transmissions or engines
• Inspect and adjust protective guards, bolts, and safety devices on trucks and equipment
• Lubricate and service vehicles regularly
• Fabricate lifting/towing attachments, hydraulic systems, shields, or other devices per schematics
• Perform collision repair, sanding, preparation, and painting
• Complete standard maintenance and ensure state inspection compliance for all vehicles

Requirements

Rahns Concrete, a partner of H&K Group, Inc., is seeking a Heavy Diesel Mechanic. The role involves repairing and maintaining electric, diesel, and gasoline industrial trucks. The ideal candidate is self‑motivated, organized, competent, and professional.

• Possess a one‑year diesel‑mechanic certificate or two years related experience
• Class A or B CDL (or ability to obtain within one year) and clean driving record
• Demonstrate customer service, teamwork, and mathematical skills
• Fit test and use appropriate PPE as required
• Meet physical demands such as lifting up to 75 lb and frequent stooping, crouching, and kneeling
• Four years of related experience, state inspection license, or heavy civil construction background preferred
• OSHA, MSHA, or similar safety certifications are a plus
