The Maintenance Technician supports operation troubleshooting, diagnostics, housekeeping, and repairs across commercial buildings, industrial systems, vehicles, grounds, and maintenance equipment for assigned properties. This role assists in maintaining the functionality and safety of facilities while providing responsive service to occupants.
Key duties include troubleshooting and repairing building systems such as packaging machinery, plumbing, kitchen equipment, roofs, drains, grounds equipment, and HVAC. The technician cleans, lubricates, and services pumps, valves, pneumatic controls, and other mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic devices, and assists with installation and modification of equipment. Additional tasks involve repairing finishes, inspecting for unsafe conditions, operating fire safety systems, performing carpentry and snow removal, and responding promptly to emergencies and service requests.
The position requires strong technical proficiency, initiative, flexibility, multitasking ability, and a sense of urgency. Candidates must hold at least a high school diploma or GED and have two or more years of experience in a commercial property setting, demonstrating competency with tools, equipment, and safety practices.
Eligibility includes technical or vocational training in areas such as HVAC, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, carpentry, or engine repair, a valid driver’s license with a good record, and basic computing skills in Outlook, Excel, and Word. The technician may be the sole maintenance staff on duty during certain shifts and must be prepared for extended periods without relief, on-call duties, and potential overtime.
