What you would be doing

  • Use precision measuring equipment to take and record measurements as required by assembly drawings, work instructions, and quality requirements. (ie: micrometers, calipers, taper gauges, laser measuring equipment, dial indicators, pressure gauges, and special fixtures).
  • Collaborate with Engineering to improve assembly processes and operation protocols, and to pursue continuous improvement throughout the facility.
  • Prepare material for assembly by cleaning or polishing.
  • Maintain high levels of personal and professional organization and housekeeping.
  • Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals and to improve safety, quality, cost, delivery, and productivity.
  • Comply with company drug policy and maintain the ability to pass a random drug screening.
  • Use and operate material handling equipment such as cranes, rigging, and industrial vehicles.
  • Perform precision assembly tasks like grinding, honing, polishing, and blade pinning.
  • Use a computer for data entry, job tracking, quality records, and training.
  • Use heavy tools, including hydraulic tensioners, wrenches, jacks, drills, induction heating, pneumatic/electric tools, drilling equipment, and specialty assembly fixtures.
  • Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures reporting all unsafe activities to Management and/or Human Resources.
  • Protect confidential information by not communicating, disclosing to, or using for benefit of third parties.
  • Communicate effectively with subordinates and management at all levels.

  • Ability to work well as a member of a team and individually.
  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent.
  • Prior experience in a manufacturing or precision mechanical assembly environment.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Applicants must be US Citizens of the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to pass routine background check and drug test per company policy.
  • Strong attention to detail and a keen eye for quality.
  • Demonstrate capability and aptitude to learn then teach various operations associated with heavy duty rotor assembly.
  • Ability to read, write, comprehend and follow instructions, short correspondence and memos.
  • At least 18 years of age.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group settings to internal and external constituents.
  • Eagerness to learn and a desire for a long-term career in rotor assembly.
  • Ability to understand and follow instructions (written, spoken, or shown in diagrams) and to solve basic problems with a few variables.
  • Associate's degree, certificate, or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination.
  • Ability to operate and understand using both SAE and Metric units of measure.
  • Manual dexterity and good hand-eye coordination.
  • Read, interpret, and understand assembly drawings, work instructions and lifting procedures.
  • Heavy equipment maintenance or repair, or similar fields of mechanical experience.
