Intermediate Interior Designer

Description

• Analyze, interpret, and apply applicable codes, regulations, and requirements.
• Conceptualizes and develops interior design from both a functional and aesthetic perspective in concert with a client’s requirements, budget, and program.
• Lead and/or assist with client meetings and stakeholder engagement workshops including user group meetings and room data meetings.
• Lead interdisciplinary project team meetings.
• Collaborate with Project Managers and team members to prepare internal project budgets, schedules, and work plans to ensure faithful adherence to design intent, budget, schedule, and agreedupon work plan.
• Utilize REVIT to model and document projects at all phases from conceptual design through to construction documentation in all areas of the work (such as floor plans, elevations, sections, details, schedules, project specifications, etc.).
• Advocate for design excellence and creativity within the practice of interior design both internally and externally.
• Manages time to meet project budget and schedule as well as holds accountability for design and implementation of project milestones.
• Lead the coordination of project deliverables including schedule, meetings, Peer Reviews, etc.
• Actively participates and collaborates in a project team setting through all phases of design.
• Exercises independent judgement to analyze issues, interpret information and select methods and solutions to resolve problems.
• Implement and champion drawing standards and project processes.
• Provide guidance and instruction to junior design staff.
• Take ownership of Contract Administration duties during the construction phase.

Requirements

• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Knowledge of all aspects of interior design including programming, block planning, room data, space planning, construction detailing, material selection, furniture selection and specification.
• Knowledge of building construction systems means and methods, materials, and industry associated standards are expected.
• Engages in creative and critical thought.
• Requires comprehension in REVIT, Microsoft Office Suite, Photoshop, and InDesign; prefers experience with SketchUp, Newforma, Enscape, Bluebeam, and most recent modeling software.
