Direct engine and subsystem design evaluation, lead benchmarking and supplier evaluation activities, project planning and tracking, and the qualification of diesel engines and related subsystems used in the Transport Refrigeration Unit (TRU), genset, and auxiliary power unit (APU) applications.
Apply knowledge of DFMEA or other robust engineering tools, tolerance analysis, simulation and statistical methods to improve robustness and quality of TRU engines and its components.
Participate in and lead component design reviews, prepare/present technical information to Carrier executive level staff members.
Create, modify, or approve technical documentation including functional specifications, technical requirements, qualification test plans, and reports.
Implement and support development testing activities, which could include daily interaction with Carrier Transicold test engineering department and component suppliers.
Interface with cross functional team members, international engine manufacturers, and engine subsystem suppliers from initial concept to production.
Provide technical support and guidance to the global Sustaining Engineering Groups during their evaluation of engines, subsystems, or component field or test sample failures.

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering.
5+ years experience in technical leadership (guiding junior engineers, leading technical peer-to-peer reviews, etc.) supporting team members with executing projects.
2+ years experience in diesel engine emissions, certification process and/or compliance.
Willingness to take on unique engineering challenges outside of prior work experience or primary educational background.
15+ years experience of compression ignition (CI) and/or spark ignition (SI) engines or related engine/exhaust aftertreatment component.

Familiarity with HVAC (Heating, Ventilating, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration) systems is desired.
10+ years experience in any of the following engineering functions: engine application engineering, design, development, validation or qualification is required.
