The foreman will cover roofs with TPO, EPDM, PVC, and related materials and may also spray roofs, sidings, and walls to bind, seal, insulate, or soundproof sections of structures.
- Calculate and control labor projections, material storage, and material needs
- Read shop drawings, reproduce manufacturing details, and layout roofs and walls
- Cut, shape, fit, join, and install edge metal, insulation, ice & water shields, wood, and other construction materials
- Run material inventory
- Install pipe boots, ridge/hip caps, rake, nail base, valley, eave lock, and ice & water shield
- Install counter flashing, coping, fascia, gutters, miters, downspouts, roof curbs, flat lock, and thru‑wall flashing
- Install crickets, chimney flashing, curbs, and perform seaming and soldering
- Complete timesheets, shop requisitions, and job reports
- Train and supervise crew and subcontractors to meet quality and production goals
- Meet with general contractor and customers
- Review job file and shop drawings with manager, covering scope, materials, schedule, budget, and contacts
- Ensure proper safety equipment and coordination; responsible for safety compliance on site
- Supervise crew daily on safety, quality, and labor production
- Maintain job site cleanliness and daily housekeeping
- Monitor and maintain on‑site equipment such as kettle motor oil changes and cutter belts
- Prepare and submit daily job reports, progress issues, technical questions, and timesheets
- Control overall quality, including water‑tightness, cleanup, punch list, and job close‑out
- Install, repair, or replace single‑ply roofing systems using waterproof sheet materials
- Cut and install felt, shingles, and flashing, fitting them to roof geometry
- Install vapor barriers and insulation on flat roof decks and seal seams
- Apply overlapping roofing materials using alignment tools
- Cover roofs and exterior walls with slate, single‑ply systems, asphalt, aluminum, wood, gravel, gypsum, and related materials using appropriate tools
- Operate vehicles and mechanized equipment
- Train and coach other employees

The role requires prolonged standing, frequent climbing, lifting up to 50 pounds, repetitive bending, kneeling, and the ability to see details at close range, as well as sustained use of ladders, scaffolds, and stairways.
Work is performed in extreme lighting conditions and temperature ranges, with exposure to noise, contaminants, hazardous materials, and high places; safety procedures must be strictly followed due to the serious consequences of mistakes.
- High School or GED education
- 1‑3 years roofing experience
- Valid driver’s license
- Knowledge of safety techniques and ability to conduct toolbox talks and safety huddles
- Interpersonal and leadership skills; work on a team and take corrective action when necessary
