- Oversee and enforce health and safety standards for all trades and subcontractors on site.
- Perform regular site inspections and audits to verify compliance with safety policies and procedures.
- Maintain accurate safety records, reports, and documentation.
- Investigate incidents, near misses, and non-compliance, and support root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Conduct and review risk assessments and ensure risk management measures are in place prior to job start milestones.
- Deliver and coordinate safety training, toolbox talks, and site orientations.
- Lead subcontractor onboarding, ensuring all documentation, training, and certifications are complete before work begins.
- Stay current with local, provincial, and federal safety regulations and best practices in the construction field.
- Collaborate with the project management team for pre-planning activities, integrating safety requirements into project schedules.
- Facilitate regular check-ins and safety meetings with the project team and site supervisors.

- Certificate, Diploma or degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to various sites within the GTA.
- 5–8 years of progressive experience in health and safety roles, preferably in construction.
- Professional safety certifications (e.g. CRSP, CRST, CHSO, NCSO).
- Strong knowledge of Ontario health and safety legislation (e.g., OHSA).
- Ability to obtain OPP Level 4 security clearances.
- Experience with large-scale or multi-trade construction projects.
- Demonstrated experience with subcontractor management, onboarding, and training.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and safety management software.
- Proven ability to conduct risk assessments and implement risk management strategies.
