Responsible for testing on Fire and Sprinkler systems for life safety according to jurisdictional requirements and NFPA standards.

  • Maintains and updates notes in CRM system to provide needed information for future work.
  • Maintains good working relationship with Inspections admin staff to help drive efficiencies.
  • Leads inspections and directs others to their respective roles.
  • Completes reports, submitting daily to the administrative staff.
  • Participates in the on-call schedule.
  • Tests and inspects fire alarm systems, sprinkler systems, fire extinguishers, and backflow systems.
  • Interacts with customers in a professional manner and provides clear communication on system status to building owners and property managers.
  • Support and contribute to special initiatives and collaborative projects across departments, as assigned by leadership

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 20 pounds, and occasionally will lift and/or move up to 50 pounds; Must be able to stand, walk, reach and bend for extended periods of time occasionally; Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus; Uses fingers, hands, arms when working with mouse, keyboard, monitors; possible use of headset while on calls.

  • Driver’s license in good standing
  • Fire Alarm Systems NICET II Certification or equivalent
  • Water Based Systems NICET II Certification
  • Professional demeanor and attitude.
  • Must be able to pass a drug test.
  • Seattle Sc-1 card
  • Demonstrates problem solving in the field.
  • Utilizes the Building Reports Platform correctly and to its fullest ability.
  • Valid driver’s license and no more than three minor traffic infractions on record in the last 3 years.
  • Ability to problem solve, self-start and work with little direction.
  • 06 Electrical License
  • High School diploma, GED or equivalent
  • Must have at least two years of related experience, fire or security industry preferred.
  • Backflow Testing (BAT)
  • Seattle FA-1 card
  • WA State ITT Sprinkler competency card
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
  • Able to provide quality customer service, find answers quickly.
