

Provides project management, construction, and infrastructure services for the Canadian Defence sector.
The Coordinator, Construction Services manages and administers medium-complexity construction, professional services, and service contracts to ensure compliance with contractual requirements and quality specifications. The role involves daily discussions and negotiations with contractors, consultants, and Client‑Partners regarding work quality, contract interpretation, scope changes, and progress claim reviews, while addressing contract‑management risks within delegated authority.
Primary responsibilities include managing contracts, solving day‑to‑day contractual problems, monitoring and controlling schedules, and liaising with Client‑Partner representatives to negotiate change orders and mitigate risks. The coordinator also maintains site activity records, develops effective relationships within DCC and with external stakeholders, ensures quality standards align with corporate and Client‑Partner expectations, and manages contract risks.
Additional duties encompass managing contract financials, coordinating consultant construction reviews and third‑party testing, ensuring health, safety, industrial security, and environmental compliance, supporting business development activities, and performing other assigned tasks as needed.
In terms of development and leadership, the coordinator provides functional advice and guidance to employees and Client‑Partners. Working conditions involve typical construction site environments requiring basic safety equipment, with occasional office work and travel.
The position requires knowledge of construction best practices, project, contract, and risk management principles, and health‑ and‑safety regulations. Minimum qualifications are a college diploma in engineering, applied science, or a related field with four years of relevant experience; certification such as Certified Engineering Technologist is preferred. The incumbent must be proficient with relevant software, capable of interpreting drawings and specifications, and able to apply contract‑management techniques.
