The Commercial Director will provide operational commercial support to the Regional Managing Director, leading the commercial team to ensure business objectives are met while continuously assessing risk and opportunity. Responsibilities include overseeing commercial policies, cash‑flow monitoring, and ensuring alignment with Robertson Group strategic objectives.
- Provide operational commercial support to the Regional Managing Director and lead the commercial team.
- Assist and advise on legal and contractual matters during pre‑construction.
- Produce monthly financial results and forecast year‑end financial position.
- Develop and present commercial strategies and proposals.
- Conduct internal audits and cost/value investigations on projects with programme concerns and report findings.
- Ensure commercial policies and procedures are implemented; raise non‑conformances for corrective action.
- Monitor actual versus planned cashflows, variations, and final accounts; perform regular project assurance checks.
- Protect and maintain the company's reputation with industry and clients.
- Align business delivery with Robertson Group strategic objectives and measure performance via KPIs.
- Negotiate and utilise robust main and sub‑contract provisions to minimise risk.
- Review supply chain suitability, ensure compliance with group standards, and report commercial performance issues.
- Strengthen governance and risk‑management processes across the business.
- Continuously monitor project risk, opportunity, cashflow and expenditure; advise the RMD of budget changes.
- Attend Regional Board meetings.

The ideal candidate holds a relevant Quantity Surveying degree, preferably a professional qualification, and brings senior‑level commercial experience across the construction marketplace, strong procurement knowledge, and a track record of delivering targets through effective construction appointment and management.
