Geospatial Data and Tools Leader

Description

• Actively engage with the local project teams and assist in Go/No-Go discussions, project risk assessments, SOQs, proposals, interviews, and negotiations as required.
• Actively participate in AWWA or WEF and NC One Water.
• Actively assist in growing our North Carolina management consulting and data solution services.
• Translate complex technical findings into actionable recommendations, communicating with municipal clients and stakeholders to facilitate informed decisions and secure funding for capital improvements.
• Conduct risk assessments to prioritize projects, taking into account factors like condition, criticality, and budget constraints.
• Mentor and develop other employees.
• Collaborate with HDR technical leaders, operations leaders, market sector directors, project managers, and project teams to deliver world class quality services.
• Participate in scope, schedule, and budget development for projects.
• Participate in client relationship management, client presentations, conference presentations, and interviews.
• Utilize data analytics and geospatial tools to support evidence-based decision-making processes.
• Provide project delivery support including planning, contract administration, and technical consulting.

Requirements

• Proficient in use of ArcGIS, ArcGIS extensions and Microsoft 365 Apps
• Master’s degree in Civil and/or Environmental Engineering or similar combination of relevant education and experience
• Self-starter with excellent writing and communication skills
• Ability to interact with various design professionals, have excellent organizational, project management and communication (both written and verbal) skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to write reports that summarize spatial analyses and communicate findings with charts, tables and narrative
• Familiar with estimating and scheduling software, project management software
• Local candidates are preferred
• Ability to identify industry trends and determine where company capabilities can be marketed to existing and potential clients
• Strong leadership skills and project management experience with multiple national remote teams is preferred
• Expertise in data analysis
• Current AWWA or WEF and NC One Water involvement
• 10 years of water industry experience
• Proven experience managing projects, client relationships, proposal development, and business development
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and conferencing platforms (Zoom, WebEx, Teams, etc.)
• Bachelors degree or equivalent experience
• Demonstrated ability to serve as a GIS project leader including development of technical approach, budget, scheduling, and quality assurance
• A minimum of 8 years of practical GIS experience; an advanced degree in relevant field may offset 4 years of experience
• Strong conceptual, organizational, problem solving, and collaboration skills
